Here is a recap of the first quarter of our year at ICSV! Enjoy!
ICSV Cross Country Update
ICSV’s Cross Country season is well underway. I have two dedicated runners this year, and we’ve been having a lot of fun! Since there really isn’t an opportunity to run against other schools here, we enter races around the city where they can compete within their age group.
Our first 5K race resulted in one of my runners placing 3rd in her age group, earning a nice little trophy.
Our second race was a bit of an adventure. It was supposed to be 6.6km long, but it turned out that people ended up running different distances. Due to an error on the course, the fastest runners were pointed the wrong direction and only ran 3.6 km. Some others knew the course and ran the correct distance. And then there were the rest of us who ended up running 7.3km. Oops. Despite all this, the team did well, and would have won an award or two if there wasn’t so much confusion about the results.
Stay tuned for more updates and results!
Unveiling of Our New Webpage!
So I finally got around to updating our main website. Hopefully you like it. And if you don’t, just don’t tell us.
Check it out! We’ll still be maintaining this blog and Tricia’s photo blog, but we’ve consolidated both those into this one page.
Also, we’ve started a Facebook group where we can share quick ministry updates, prayer requests, and other such things. We tried to do this with Twitter last year, but I think this will be a better fit. It’s a private group, so you’ll have to request membership. Don’t be offended if it takes a day or two to approve you. 🙂
Also, we listed some other ways you can support us beyond dropping a check in the mail.
We do appreciate all of you who support us in so many ways and look forward to continuing to partner with you in ministry.
Progressive Dinner
This past Saturday, the Junior Class had a progressive dinner. Each stage of the dinner was in a different home, and their were rules about how the kids could eat their food. Our house was the first stop. The course was appetizers, and the rule was that the students could not feed themselves. It was a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday!
We’ve had lots of birthdays to celebrate lately. Way back in the Spring, we had a K themed birthday party for Matt, myself, and our friend Kristi-Anna. In August, we celebrated Whitney’s Birthday with ultimate frisbee and a BBQ for all the August birthdays on staff. The very next week we celebrated Bethany with a prehistoric dinosaur birthday and Jeff with kickball and a poker party. Then, the following week, we celebrated James and Rebecca‘s birthdays. We had a lot of fun celebrating all these awesome people! (Yes, Matt and I are included in that. 😉 )
