Videography: VCS Punishment Corps

March 4, 2009 by Matt

The current project my videography class is working on is:

  • Find a 30-60 second commercial on Youtube.
  • Use this video as a template for your own commercial.

The first one is based on the Reebok commercial: Terry Tate, Office Linebacker.

Below is the original followed by remake. Enjoy!

Yay for Teamwork!

Christmas

This is Liz. Liz is the fifth grade teacher at VCS. She is wise, kind, talented, and one of the most spectacular teachers I’ve ever known. This year I’m appreciating her on a whole new level. We just finished a big cooperative project with her fifth graders. Each fifth grade student wrote a non-fiction book, but we published them using Power Point. That’s right – a completely digital project. I had a great time working with Liz on this project and I am so proud of the work the students did. I especially appreciate that Liz has been so willing to work with me on making technology something that is truly integrated with her curriculum. This is what being the computer teacher is all about!

This picture is from Liz’s birthday. I bought her a Lebkuchen (gingerbread) Herz that says, “Du bist echt cool!” (You are really cool!) It’s true. She is really cool. 🙂

Messy

March 2, 2009 by kleineklein

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is “Messy.” Sadly, I don’t have any good photos for the children’s category, but I have this great one of Whitney for the adult category. Whitney “won” the pie in the face contest at this year’s Fall Festival. I think she handled it very well. 🙂

Korean Cooking, Part Two

February 25, 2009 by kleineklein

Korean Cooking We had our second Korean cooking class on Valentine’s Day. This time around, Myunghee taught us how to make mandu and kimchi. Mandu are very similar to potstickers only they’re not fried. They are so yummy! I’m amazed at how easy they are to make. I’ll definitely be doing these at home. The other thing we learned was how to make kimchi. Kimchi is a fermented cabbage dish that Koreans eat at most meals. It is supposedly the healthiest food in the world. Or so Koreans keep telling me. The thing is that kimchi is a very strong, spicy, fermented vegetable dish. I really like it, but a lot of people (including Matt) do not. I don’t think I could ever eat it for breakfast, or even eat it everday for that matter, but I am glad that I know how to make it now. Black & White

February 23, 2009 by kleineklein

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is “Black & White.” These are my entries.

This picture is of my friends Thomas and Mollie’s son a few weeks before his baby brother is born. He’s practicing being a big brother. I really love how the light hits his face in this picture.

This is a picture of my friend Cindi during staff orientation. How can you not love that smile?

I Heart Faces

I like this week’s theme because I love black & white photography. I think you get to see so much more personality with black & white. I can’t wait to see all the enteries this week.

You can enter your own photos, too. Just go here:
