Dracula

May 4, 2009 by kleineklein

dracula1.I think that Whitney Sorrow is brilliant. She is keeping a blog on which she will post Bram Stoker’s Dracula in real time. The novel itself is written as a series of letters and journal entries. Whitney is going to be posting the book a letter/journal at a time on the date it was written. The book starts on May 3rd, which was yesterday, so now’s the time to start reading. Check it out!

Hats!

May 4, 2009 by kleineklein

Last week’s photos of Reflection at I Heart Faces were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. You should definitely check them out. This week’s theme is “Hats.”

button-kidsMy kids entry is from International Family Fun Night last year. Several of the Korean girls performed an incredible fan dance. We have some seriously talented kiddos in our school!

Family Fun Night

button-adultsMy adult entry is another one from Matt’s birthday party. That jungle theme has been coming in handy! This one is of Chad and his pal. I’ve been trying to think of a clever way to reference the monkey on his back, but alas, I am apparently out of cleverness today.

Broken Headphones

headphones.

Student: Mrs. Klein! Mrs. Klein! I cannot hear anything. My earphones aren’t working!

Mrs. Klein: They will probably work if you put them on your head.

Student: Oh! Now they are working!

*Note: You must read the students first part with absolute frustration and the second part with a bit of joy.

Reflection

April 27, 2009 by kleineklein

The theme of the week at I Heart Faces is, yep you guessed it, “Reflection.” I don’t have a kids entry this week, but I do have an adult entry. That is because my very dear, very sweet, very accommodating husband agreed to help me out. We went to the Fun House at Prater and he let me take oodles of pictures while he made funny faces into the mirrors. There were a lot to choose from, but I really like this one. I like how he looks like a little kid trying to figure out what’s going on in that mirror. He’s so cute! 🙂

Robotics Insanity

April 24, 2009 by Matt

insane_robot

Anybody know a good robot shrink?

One of my students received this error message when trying to code her robot.

I’m not exactly sure what the “insane object” is. I know where it’s at (BDHP+2A70), and I know what it’s in (“sumo bot.rbt”) Which means… well, it means I don’t have any idea what this means.

Maybe some rogue programmer is trying to insult one my students. Maybe my robots are taking on emotions and personality, and not in a good way. Because insanity isn’t good…right?

In any case, consider yourself warned.
