Here is the latest video released by my videography class. I even got a small role in this one. And just in case you’re wondering, the uniforms are actually official VCS track uniforms. Enjoy!
Geek of the Week – Bill Gates
No video this week due to some rendering problems. So we’ve got so more audio for you this week.
I have my freshmen write and record interviews with famous Geeks throughout history. One particular student asked me if he could instead do “one of those things you do when someone dies.”
“Oh, you mean a eulogy? That’s what the preacher says at a funeral.”
“No, not that. It’s what they write in a newspaper.”
“An obituary?”
“Yeah, that’s it.”
“So can I do it?”
“Sure”

Video of the Week – Fix My Frame
This week we have an advertisement for a competition to “fix” Mr. Stockett’s frame. This video is a parody of MTV’s Pimp My Ride, except instead of XZibit we have 2V, and instead of a car we have a cheap Ikea picture frame. I think this was our highest budget film to date. I mean, 5 Euro. Wow!
The version shown during chapel was digitally remastered during 4th block. Check out all the sweet special effects that didn’t make it into the Chapel video.
I Love Ham – Geek of the Week
No video this week because we had Friday off. But I do have an interview for you.
I had my 9th graders pick a geek to interview for their final quarter project and the first one I will share with you is a “conversation” between Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs.
I hope you enjoy learning a little bit about Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computers. Maybe you’ll learn something new. For instance, I never knew Steve Wozniak speaks with so many different accents.
This one is only 3:30. Just click play.
Fall Festival at VCS
Fall Festival is a time where our students and parents come to school to share food and play carnival type games set up all around school. The evening is topped off by performances by the elementary, middle and high school choirs. It is always a lot of fun and it is a great opportunity to show off what our school is all about. For more pictures check out my Flickr sidebar or click here.
