Here is a recap of the first quarter of our year at ICSV! Enjoy!
Unveiling of Our New Webpage!
So I finally got around to updating our main website. Hopefully you like it. And if you don’t, just don’t tell us.
Check it out! We’ll still be maintaining this blog and Tricia’s photo blog, but we’ve consolidated both those into this one page.
Also, we’ve started a Facebook group where we can share quick ministry updates, prayer requests, and other such things. We tried to do this with Twitter last year, but I think this will be a better fit. It’s a private group, so you’ll have to request membership. Don’t be offended if it takes a day or two to approve you. 🙂
Also, we listed some other ways you can support us beyond dropping a check in the mail.
We do appreciate all of you who support us in so many ways and look forward to continuing to partner with you in ministry.
Am I Really THAT Old?
Over the last few years, I’ve had a number of moments that have made me feel decidedly older. Turning 40 was kind of a big one. However, today may have been the clincher. While eating lunch at The Good Dog, I was thoroughly enjoying the music being played because it was all music that I listened to in high school. I was feeling good, singing along, reminiscing. Then I looked up. Above Matt’s head was the video to go along with the music. Apparently, we were listening to “Classic Alternative.” CLASSIC! I am not prepared for this milestone. Not at all.

Highlights From America: Week 1
- While watching the Green Hornet on the flight over, we spent the first half of the movie wondering when and how Seth Rogan would transform into Ryan Reynolds. Oops. Apparently Green Hornet ≠ Green Lantern.
- IN-N-OUT Burger = Yum!
- Meeting our cute new nephew, Silas.
- Seeing the whole Zimmerman clan again.
- Juicy, thick, American steak – Delicious!
- Discovered that running up hills at high altitude is a little more difficult than running flat in Vienna. Ugh!
- Coke and Cherry Slurpee.
- Watching 60-70 year olds play softball.
- Shopping for new clothes!! My favorite! After something like 10 hours in the dressing room, I have some nice new clothes. I guess one benefit is that I now know my dress shirt size: 15 1/2, 32-33. Hopefully I’ll still remember that the next time I go shopping.
- Tricia got a really cute new purse for only $5.80! She’s really excited about this. It’s red and shiny. Did I mention that it’s super cute? And it only cost $5.80?
We’re on to Philly tonight. I’m sure we’ll be adding some pictures soon. Stay tuned for more highlights!
May/June Catch-up
Well, once again, I find myself at the end of August realizing that we have been to busy to share about our lives or keep this blog up to date. I think the summer that we keep on top of things will deserve some kind of reward. Possibly involving ice cream.
Here’s a snapshot of what was happening with us during the end of May and the month of June.
This year we had a mustache themed birthday party for Matt. Mustaches are always fun!
Then of course, there was the senior trip to Croatia, but you already know about that.
The day after we returned from Croatia, I turned 40. Yes. 40. Sigh. Matt and some of our friends threw me a 39.39393939… birthday party. Matt said I don’t I have to turn 40 if I don’t want to. I kinda don’t want to.
Then the seniors graduated! Wahoo! You can see by all the smiles that they were definitely ready for this day. More pics here: Graduation 2010
During the month of June we had a few friends visiting. Sally, Bekah, and Becca are some of our favorite people, so it was great to see them.
On June 19, our friends Felix and Leslie got married. They asked me to be one of the wedding photographers. Lots of pressure, but I learned a ton. I especially learned that this is NOT what I want to do for a living. Yikes!
We spent the rest of June helping our friends Jeff and Bethany get moved into their new apartment. This was super exciting for us because now they live in our building. Yay!
Stay tuned to for stories from July and August. Things did not slow down. I need a nap.
