My friend Lance is battling cancer. He’s been battling for a while now. Six years in fact. As so many of you know, this battle is a hard one. Lance is gearing up for the next stage of his battle. He needs a bone marrow transplant. As a result of the transplant he’ll have to quit work and stay away from the public for 6-12 months. This will hinder his ability to earn money and pay his bills. Lance has set up a site for people to donate toward his expenses for the next year. Would you consider helping Lance? Even the smallest amount will make a big difference for him. You can read more of his story on his website: Lance Wiedenhaupt Will you also join me in praying for Lance? We know that our Lord is the great physician and he can work miracles in Lance’s body. Thank you!
Elementary SEW – Friday
On Friday, Jerry shared with the students about how once we are saved by the blood of Christ, there is nothing that can separate us from Him. He talked about what it means to be free in Christ. We are free to be good. We are also free to give in to sin, but we’ll be miserable. He shared from Romans 6 about how the Lord has promised that our sin was covered once and for all on the cross.
We love Uncle Jerry and Aunt Michaela and, as always, we are sad to see them go. We are so thankful that they are a part of the ICSV family and grateful because we know we will see them again.

Elementary SEW – Thursday
On Thursday, Jerry shared the Gospel with the students. He talked to them about trust and faith. Then he shared with them that Christianity is not about saying yes to a religion. It’s about a relationship with Jesus. He shared Romans 3:23-24 and Romans 6:23 while explaining that even the best among us is still full of sin. Then Jerry shared Ephesians 2:8 and explained how Jesus took all of his righteousness to the cross to pay the price for that sin. He shared that salvation is a gift. There is nothing we can do to earn it. We just need to accept it. Christ paid our debt, and all we need to do is receive that gift.
Twenty six students stayed after chapel to pray with Jerry. Please pray for the teachers who will be following up with these students in the coming weeks. Please also pray for the families of these students. For the families who are raising their children in the Lord as well as the ones who don’t know Jesus themselves. Most importantly, please pray for the students. Pray that Jesus will be real for them and that they will truly know what it is to walk in grace.

Elementary SEW – Wednesday
Every other Wednesday, I get the opportunity to hang out with some of my favorite students. We have small groups called DIVE that meet during the middle school chapel time. During DIVE, I get to hang out with four amazing girls. These girls, in fact:
This week we spent our time writing notes of encouragement to a sick friend. Since I was spending time with these awesome ladies, I didn’t get to attend elementary chapel. However, I did catch a quick glimpse of Jerry and Michaela doing this:
Looks like they were having fun while they continued to talk to the kids about Jesus!
Elementary SEW – Tuesday
On Tuesday, Jerry continued to share lessons from the book of Romans. He talked about how we all sin, but Jesus chose to die on the cross to cover that sin. The amazing thing is that there is no sin too big to be covered by the blood of Jesus because it’s never about how good we are, but rather it is always about how good God is. I pray that this truth will reach deep into the hearts of the students and parents that were in chapel. Won’t you pray with me?
