Tonight was our annual staff dinner. The one where we celebrate the folks who are leaving ICSV and I cry. I’ll post more on this tomorrow because it’s late here. However, I though you might enjoy the opening to memory video we did. It kind of sums up our feelings.
Last night we had a great time hanging out with the junior class. We BBQ’d, played games, ate amazing desserts made by the gifted bakers Ms. Duerksen and Addison, oh, and we laughed a lot.

If you’ve been wondering why I haven’t been blogging much for the last couple of months, it’s not just because I’m a big slacker. I mean, I’m sure that has something to do with it.
However, another reason you haven’t seen this blog updated is that I’ve been spending the lion’s share of my free time working on ICSV’s new website.
In related news, I got a shout-out in the Austrian Times for my work.
The paparazzi isn’t knocking down our door just yet, but I’m sure once their camera batteries are charged up they’ll be staking out our apartment.
Since I don’t have an assistant coach, I usually put one or two of my boys in charge of keeping the score book. However, when I make a lot of substitutions the book gets passed around a bit.
If you’re looking at the score book and wondering who was draining 3-pointers like crazy last night, you aren’t the only one. You’re probably having trouble reading the name, but apparently “Grandma” played last night and put on a shooting display for the ages.
I guess I should have been playing her all season!
The Middle School Basketball (Boy + Eagles = Beagles) team continues to impress. After starting the season 4-0, we suffered our first loss in a hard-fought match against AIS Vienna.
We rebounded with a win against DIS, went 2-1 at our mid-season Festival in Budapest, and finished off a run of 7 games in 9 days with two more wins.
As much as we hate to lose, they’ve taken those losses in stride and have used them as motivation to work harder and get better.
Please continue to pray that these boys will continue to grow as players and as young men. And if they wanted to grow a little taller, that would be nice, too. 🙂
