Elementary Field Day

May 13, 2009 by kleineklein

fieldday.

We’re a little behind on the blog, but today is the day to get caught up. 🙂

On April 24, the elementary school had their annual field day. This year was a little different for me since I’m a specialist teacher now. Instead of running from event to event with my class, I got to be in charge of one station and work with every class. It was really fun. The students had a great time jumping rope, tossing bean bags, shooting basketballs, sack racing, and beating one another in relays.

Laughter

May 12, 2009 by kleineklein

Laughter is the theme at I Heart Faces this week. I had to do a little digging, but I found two photos that I really like.

button_-_kidsMy kids entry is of a couple students having a great time at recess.

heeeeey!

button_-_adultsMy adult entry is from the Junior Christmas party. I love this picture because they are all laughing so hard, but also because it shows just how many different ways there are to laugh. Well, unless you are the girl in the middle who was not quite as amused. That’s only fair since the reason the rest of them are laughing is that they played a practical joke on her. Luckily she’s a pretty good sport.

I think you should definitely check out the rest of the entries. This should be a really fun week.

Dracula

May 4, 2009 by kleineklein

dracula1.I think that Whitney Sorrow is brilliant. She is keeping a blog on which she will post Bram Stoker’s Dracula in real time. The novel itself is written as a series of letters and journal entries. Whitney is going to be posting the book a letter/journal at a time on the date it was written. The book starts on May 3rd, which was yesterday, so now’s the time to start reading. Check it out!

Hats!

May 4, 2009 by kleineklein

Last week’s photos of Reflection at I Heart Faces were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. You should definitely check them out. This week’s theme is “Hats.”

button-kidsMy kids entry is from International Family Fun Night last year. Several of the Korean girls performed an incredible fan dance. We have some seriously talented kiddos in our school!

button-adultsMy adult entry is another one from Matt’s birthday party. That jungle theme has been coming in handy! This one is of Chad and his pal. I’ve been trying to think of a clever way to reference the monkey on his back, but alas, I am apparently out of cleverness today.

Broken Headphones

April 28, 2009 by kleineklein

headphones.

Student: Mrs. Klein! Mrs. Klein! I cannot hear anything. My earphones aren’t working!

Mrs. Klein: They will probably work if you put them on your head.

Student: Oh! Now they are working!

*Note: You must read the students first part with absolute frustration and the second part with a bit of joy.
