Two Dreams
I have two dreams for that day when I magically win several million dollars in a lottery that I’ve never entered. The first is that I want a fantastic library. One of those libraries where there are floor to ceiling bookshelves on every wall and several comfy reading couches. Oh, and a window seat. Definitely a window seat.
The second dream is that I want a huge kitchen. One where I can actually store all of our kitchen things, not just shove them on top of the cabinets and refrigerator. I want a kitchen that has lots of wall space so I can display fun food art like this:
These brilliant creations are from the blog Meat Sections. I have just wasted a ridiculous amount of time browsing through this blog. I love it! This blog is where Alyson posts her daily butchery style diagrams – mostly of food, but sometimes of things much more hilarious. If you need a way to spend a few minutes (by a few, I mean at least 30), then go check it out. If you really like her stuff you can buy it from her Etsy shop, drywell.
Excuses, Excuses
So, it’s been more than awhile since I posted anything – even after I promised I would. I have lots of excuses for why I’ve been too busy. Here are some of the more important reasons:
In July, my mom & dad came to visit, and we all went to Prague. Prague is one of my favorite cities and I’m so glad we got to share it with them.
As soon as my parents left, I had to start getting things ready for the arrival of the new staff. This is one of my favorite things each year. Sadly, this year I was too busy to take any pictures. Fortunately, our friends the Johnstones took plenty.
After New Staff Orientation was over, Matt took me to Gmunden which is on the Traunsee. We celebrated our second anniversary and relaxed a little before the start of school. Traunsee is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been!
As usual, school started at breakneck speed. One of the fun things I got to do in September was throw a baby shower for my dear friend Bethany whose sweet baby girl was born a few weeks later.
Shortly after this fun celebration, the whole staff headed to the staff retreat. We had a great time walking in the Austrian woods and relaxing with our friends.
As soon as we returned, I began the planning for Fall Festival. This is our first big PTF event of the year and one of my favorite times at the school.
So, these are my excuses for being a lame blogger. Hopefully, I’ll be better in the future. 🙂
You can see more pictures of all these events here: Prague, Gmunden, Bethany’s Shower, Staff Retreat, Fall Festival.
Zazzle!
We have a fun new way for you to support our ministry here in Austria, and the best part is you get something fun out of it. 🙂 We have opened a Zazzle store. You can find it here: Ein Kleines Foto. Zazzle is a site that let’s you design products and sell them to the public. We have designed cards, tshirts, Christmas ornaments and more. Each time you buy something from our Zazzle store, a portion of it goes toward funding our ministry here in Austria.
Need Christmas cards? We have some cute ones here: Christmas Shop. You can even customize them to say what you want!
Looking for gifts? I suggest visiting The House of Matty or the Pippi Longstocking Shop.
Have fun shopping!

May/June Catch-up
Well, once again, I find myself at the end of August realizing that we have been to busy to share about our lives or keep this blog up to date. I think the summer that we keep on top of things will deserve some kind of reward. Possibly involving ice cream.
Here’s a snapshot of what was happening with us during the end of May and the month of June.
This year we had a mustache themed birthday party for Matt. Mustaches are always fun!
Then of course, there was the senior trip to Croatia, but you already know about that.
The day after we returned from Croatia, I turned 40. Yes. 40. Sigh. Matt and some of our friends threw me a 39.39393939… birthday party. Matt said I don’t I have to turn 40 if I don’t want to. I kinda don’t want to.
Then the seniors graduated! Wahoo! You can see by all the smiles that they were definitely ready for this day. More pics here: Graduation 2010
During the month of June we had a few friends visiting. Sally, Bekah, and Becca are some of our favorite people, so it was great to see them.
On June 19, our friends Felix and Leslie got married. They asked me to be one of the wedding photographers. Lots of pressure, but I learned a ton. I especially learned that this is NOT what I want to do for a living. Yikes!
We spent the rest of June helping our friends Jeff and Bethany get moved into their new apartment. This was super exciting for us because now they live in our building. Yay!
Stay tuned to for stories from July and August. Things did not slow down. I need a nap.
