So I realize I’ve been bad about updating you about my shoulder surgery and recovery. And what better way to document my progress than the YMCA (hat tip WG). I know the C is backwards, but the right way doesn’t really demonstrate my lack of mobility.
Long story short:
- Surgery: Successful
- Recovery: Slow
I was diagnosed with a frozen shoulder which essentially means an estimated recovery time of 3 months easily doubled. Ugh.
In any case please pray that I will be motivated to do my stretches and that my doctor will be able to hook me up with a good physical therapist.
Stay tuned for weekly updates.
The theme this week at I Heart Faces is “Funny, Silly Faces.” I’m entering one of my favorite pictures of my friend Sally. She was the perfect Pippi Longstocking for our celebration of Astrid Lindgren’s 100th birthday!

You can see the rest of the silly faces here:

After a week of being on and off a feeding tube, my nephew, Benjamin Thomas Klein was able to come home Sunday to some very anxious parents and grandparents.
At the time he went home he weighed 5 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 inches long.
Thank you for your prayers.
Our Toilet Paper Quest continues with Hakle brand Klopapier. If you recall we first tried a brand called Cosy. Their mascot was a cuddly, pink cartoon tiger. Hakle goes with a soft, cuddly puppy. But would it be as soft as a cute little puppy?
Hakle’s slogan is: Deinem Po zuliebe. In English, For the sake of your butt . Seems pretty intense for a toilet paper slogan, though around here we appreciate that kind of commitment. So we’re off to a good start already.
In addition, the particular package of Klopapier we purchased offered a Reise zum Po, a vacation for your butt. Let me tell you, my butt definitely needs a vacation.
In any case we rated Hakle much higher than Cosy, with Tricia even comparing it favorably to Charmin. This could actually be a viable option for our Klopapier needs. However, we’re not quite done yet.
Will Hakle become the official Klopapier of the Kleins?
Stay tuned for the next episode of KlopapierQuest!
On Sunday, April 2 our new nephew, Benjamin Klein was born. Yay! He was four weeks premature so they are keeping him in the hospital for a few days. Currently he’s on a feeding tube. As soon as he can start taking a bottle consistently he’ll be able to go home. Please pray for little Benjamin as he gains strength. Please pray also for his parents Jon and Sara and his big brother Troy as they are all eager to take him home and start loving on him.
