Please Don’t Squeeze the Charmin 6 comments
Upon returning to Austria, Tricia and I discovered that the Billa had indeed squeezed the Charmin… off of their shelves! Tragic! Saddened by this discovery, we reluctantly set out on a quest to find a new brand of Klopapier.
We quickly ruled out the cheapest option, Clever. Now, Clever brand is great when you need a giant tub of ice cream or some cheap frozen pizza, but I’ve unfortunately been on the wrong end of some Clever toilet paper before. Not a good experience.
We made a decision to give Cosy a try for a few reasons:
1. It was on sale
2. It has a cuddly pink lion/tiger/cat thing as its mascot
3. Its logo is: “So weich, dass man es blind erkennt.” I’m not exactly sure what that means, but if I had to guess. “So soft, one would have to be blind not to know.” Yeah, that doesn’t really make sense. Oh well. I guess my German still needs some work.
In any case the verdict around here is a definitive thumbs down for Cosy. It looks soft and cuddly, but isn’t so much soft and cuddly where it counts.

Not really, actually, because feet can be kind of gross. However, since the theme at I Heart Faces this week is “Feet,” I have a photo to share. 
This week has been kind of fun for me because I don’t have a lot of pictures of feet, so I spent a lot of time playing with the few photos that I do have. It’s amazing how a little cropping and filtering can change a photo. I ended up liking a lot of the photos, but I had to pick one. You can look at all the photos I edited (Photos of Feet) and tell me if you think I made the right choice. Here’s what I chose:

Well, we’ve been back in Austria for nine days. I think we might actually be over the jet-lag. Whew! While we were in the States we had such a great time with family and friends. We got to meet with a few groups and share more about our ministry here in Vienna. One of the things we were able to share was the video below. It’s kind of a quick overview of what we do here. We hope you enjoy it!
I Heart Faces 3 comments
We’re back home and back in the swing of things which means I can start playing with photography again. Yay! This week the themes at I Heart Faces are “Sports in Action” and “Pets.” The great thing about working at a school and being married to a coach is that I had LOTS of sports photos to choose from. Not having any pets, however, meant searching for a pet photo. Here’s what I came up with.
This picture is from Elementary Field Day a couple of years ago. I love how intense the girls’ faces are. They are going to win this tug-of-war!
This is Snuggles. She’s my parents dachshund, and she is awesome.

This was the weather in Florida pretty much the entire time we were there. Bizarre weather for Florida this time of year. However, it did clear up enough for us to get some quality beach time Tuesday evening before we left.
We did get away to Philadelphia for 4th of July weekend where it was always sunny and surprisingly not too hot. Perfect weather for taking in a baseball game.
We really enjoyed our time in Florida and Philly, catching up with family and friends. I’m sorry we couldn’t see everyone we wanted to, but hopefully we will be there longer the next time we’re stateside. We both decided that spending 3.5 weeks between three places (CA, FL, and Philly) isn’t quite enough time to do everything we’d like to do.
Please pray for us as Tricia and I recoup before new and old staff start trickling in and the school year gets underway.
