Student: Mrs. Klein! Mrs. Klein! I cannot hear anything. My earphones aren’t working!
Mrs. Klein: They will probably work if you put them on your head.
Student: Oh! Now they are working!
*Note: You must read the students first part with absolute frustration and the second part with a bit of joy.

The theme of the week at I Heart Faces is, yep you guessed it, “Reflection.” I don’t have a kids entry this week, but I do have an adult entry. That is because my very dear, very sweet, very accommodating husband agreed to help me out. We went to the Fun House at Prater and he let me take oodles of pictures while he made funny faces into the mirrors. There were a lot to choose from, but I really like this one. I like how he looks like a little kid trying to figure out what’s going on in that mirror. He’s so cute!

You can see the rest of our Fun House pictures here: Fun House!

Anybody know a good robot shrink?
One of my students received this error message when trying to code her robot.
I’m not exactly sure what the “insane object” is. I know where it’s at (BDHP+2A70), and I know what it’s in (“sumo bot.rbt”) Which means… well, it means I don’t have any idea what this means.
Maybe some rogue programmer is trying to insult one my students. Maybe my robots are taking on emotions and personality, and not in a good way. Because insanity isn’t good…right?
In any case, consider yourself warned.

I’ve been doing a short digital photography unit in one of my classes and today we were working on editing. This led to the following conversation:
Student: Mr. Klein, my red eye isn’t working.
Me: Well, you’ve already made it black and white, so I don’t think the red eye is going to work.
Student: Yeah, but shouldn’t it be making his eyes red?

(My Blurb book cover!)
I Heart Faces is at it again! This time they are giving away a $29.95 credit toward a Blurb book. Blurb is an awesome online photo book site. I’m really excited about this giveaway because I’ve already been working on a Blurb book for our honeymoon. Here’s hoping I can win this one!
Head here to enter for yourself: I Heart Faces Blurb Giveaway
The other part of this contest is that I Heart Faces is making a Blurb book of the best photos from the weekly contest coming up in a few weeks. I’m off to see which photo I want to enter for that contest. How cool would it be to have a photo published in an actual book? Very cool!

Spring is here! Hallelujah! We just started back to school after a week of Easter vacation. For the break, we decided to stay in Vienna and enjoy this amazing city that we live in. The weather was gorgeous all week. We went to the park, ate the first ice cream of the season (there actually is an ice cream season in Vienna – it’s my favorite season), bought some patio furniture, went to the Ostermärkte, had friends over for dinner, enjoyed Easter at the Wells’ house, and even babysat our friends’ boys for a day. It was a great break!
You can see lots of pictures here: Spring and Easter

That super cute picture of Anne and Sally? The one where they are practicing for Stomp!? Yep, it was a winner. It won eighth place. Yippee!
You can see it along with the rest of the top ten here: http://iheartfaces.blogspot.com/2008/01/week-13-top-ten-adults.html

After several months of procrastination and a frightful day where I inadvertently deleted all the photos, (Oh, yes I did) our honeymoon photos are finally up on Flickr. Our moms may be the only people as excited as I am, so this post is especially for them.
Enjoy!
This week at I Heart Faces, the theme is “My Friend & I.” I’m kind of excited about this because I really like my two photos.
My kids entry is a picture of two students whom I just adore. I also like this picture because it is the very first one I edited with any kind of effects.

My adult entry is a photo I love because it is a picture of two friends that I love. This is a photo from when Sally, Anne, and I went to London. We were on our way to see Stomp! They are all ready for the show. If you squint you can see the Stomp sign in the background. I came to Vienna with Anne and Sally, but they both went back to the States last summer. I miss these ladies quite a lot!
