I ran the Vienna Night run with some other staff and students. The almost 4 kilometer route began and ended at the Rathaus (Vienna’s City Hall). Even though I’d only actually trained for about 2 weeks (after a 6 month layoff) and was fighting off a cold, I enjoyed the run through Vienna’s inner city and the post race entertainment.
I must admit I was spellbound by a rather portly Austrian man juggling and twirling various things he lit on fire. I think my favorite were the nunchucks.
Really, though, can you ever go wrong with nunchucks? Especially flaming
Two weeks ago the Junior Class that Tricia and I are sponsoring put on a school event for a fundraiser. We called it Showtime and had staff and students participate in various games shows. Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, and Don’t Forget the Lyrics.
What followed was a fun time for all. Many contestants received lovely parting gifts, and several found out that they weren’t not quite smarter than a 5th grader.
I think most of you have already seen these, but I imagine there are some out there that we missed somehow. They’ve been out for a couple of weeks now. Sorry if we didn’t get an email out to you.
I hope you like the new design here. It may still undergo some changes, but we’re excited to get the ball rolling with our new blog. Tricia and I have joined our lives together, and now we join our blogs together. You know what they say: The family the blogs together stays together….or something like that.
Here is the first edition of the VCS News Network. Every other week or so, my videography class is putting together a news segment to show in Chapel. This year I am working with a group of kids who have no experience with videography, so the learning curve is steep, but I think there’s a lot of potential here. I’m really proud of the progress we’ve made so far. Some of them are already using green screen! Enjoy!
