Well, once again, I find myself at the end of August realizing that we have been to busy to share about our lives or keep this blog up to date. I think the summer that we keep on top of things will deserve some kind of reward. Possibly involving ice cream.
Here’s a snapshot of what was happening with us during the end of May and the month of June.
This year we had a mustache themed birthday party for Matt. Mustaches are always fun!

Then of course, there was the senior trip to Croatia, but you already know about that.
The day after we returned from Croatia, I turned 40. Yes. 40. Sigh. Matt and some of our friends threw me a 39.39393939… birthday party. Matt said I don’t I have to turn 40 if I don’t want to. I kinda don’t want to.

Then the seniors graduated! Wahoo! You can see by all the smiles that they were definitely ready for this day. More pics here: Graduation 2010

During the month of June we had a few friends visiting. Sally, Bekah, and Becca are some of our favorite people, so it was great to see them.

On June 19, our friends Felix and Leslie got married. They asked me to be one of the wedding photographers. Lots of pressure, but I learned a ton. I especially learned that this is NOT what I want to do for a living. Yikes!

We spent the rest of June helping our friends Jeff and Bethany get moved into their new apartment. This was super exciting for us because now they live in our building. Yay!
Stay tuned to for stories from July and August. Things did not slow down. I need a nap.

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is “Bundled Up.” I have several wintery photos that I kind of love, so it was hard to choose this week. I finally settled on this picture of a kiddo that I’m missing while his family is back in the Philippines for a year. Isn’t he sweet?

Go on over and check out the rest of the faces here:

That’s right! It’s another challenge from I Heart Faces. This time they want to see pictures of hands. I’ve been really sick this week with tonsilitis, so I’ve had plenty of time to look through all the entries. They are amazing! You should definitely check them out here:

This is my entry for this week. I L-O-V-E this picture of our friends’ son. I’ve been holding onto it for awhile now, just waiting for the right challenge. I think it finally works.

It’s true. I do heart kisses. I mean have you seen this guy? Swoon.
However, this post isn’t about us, it’s about this week’s contest over at I Heart Faces. Lucky for me, last weekend I got to take some fun pictures of two very beautiful people who are getting married soon. We went to Schönbrunn for an afternoon, so the scenery is beautiful, too.

Oh, and Happy Valentine’s Day!
The theme at I Heart Faces this week is “Best Face Photo.” This week is a little different because it has to be a photo taken in either December ’09 or January ’10. I thought about entering this face, but instead I decided to share a picture of my favorite face in the whole world.

This week I Heart Faces is celebrating their 1st Birthday. There are lots of giveaways and fun things going on there. You should take a peek. You can check out the other entries for this week, too. See it all by clicking on their cute new logo below.

The theme this week at I Heart Faces is actually “I Heart Faces.” The idea is to creatively place the I Heart Faces logo into five of your photos. This was a good challenge for me. I don’t usually add words to my photos because I’m not sure how to make it look natural.
This one is my favorite. It doesn’t look natural, but I just think it’s funny.

I think the logo blends well in this one. I like the mood of this picture a lot.

Well, honestly, I just love this face. She’s beautiful. All the time. I wanted the logo to look like it was carved into the tree. Harder than it sounds.

I think this one is a kind of quirky fun. While it doesn’t look necessarily natural, I think it does blend in with the photo. Plus it’s a picture of one of my favorite people, so how can I not love it?

OK, I really wanted this one to look better than I think it does. The idea of the logo as syrup sounded good, but I had a hard time getting it to actually look like syrup.

What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

I am submitting this photo into the I Heart Faces logo photo contest. By entering, I am granting I Heart Faces LLC permission to consider my photo for use in the marketing and promotion of their website.
That’s the theme this week at I Heart Faces. I’m excited about the theme because I love this picture, and I think it’s perfect for this week. This little one is so excited because she is listening to Jerry Jacoby during our Elementary Spiritual Emphasis Week. Truth is, we all get excited about seeing Uncle Jerry!

The theme this week at I Heart Faces is “Funny, Silly Faces.” I’m entering one of my favorite pictures of my friend Sally. She was the perfect Pippi Longstocking for our celebration of Astrid Lindgren’s 100th birthday!
